national:

... that which belongs or is positioned at the national-level (see below); that which is related to or of a nation to the extent that all or its people and various entities are connected to it in some fashion, for example, a national economic development organization. national level:

... that which is the top tier in an arrangement of economies, locales, or other constituents of a nation beginning with those which are the smallest and moving up. For example, compare the definition of local economy to national economy. An example is also make with Nations of the World in the Economic Development Network website.
