economic development organization:

a structured unit of one or more people engaged in activities related to encouraging, manipulating, or monitoring the wants and needs as wells as the accomplishments of a location seeking economic development. In other words, economic development organizations are put together to pursue interests as well as specific goals and objectives related to development in various forms such as area development, industrial development, international development, or enterprise and economic development.

EDO stands for Economic Development Organizaion. EDO can stand for a government entity of country or the entity of an administrative division within it. The acronym covers associations.
