FAQ: Why are some items of information in the GRC directory linked and some not?

The primary reason is due to the situation of online dynamics. Information is continuously changing, especially contact data. See Using the Global Registry of Contacts. It explains that three items of information from GRC records are published online for search purposes.

Items linked on the pages of individual GRC files, such as those you can access at the top of this page, are the result of requests from userssee the guide - the promise of The Network. Nearly all requests are for links that help users get in touch with contacts. Reading the mission statement of The Network will help you understand why.

Links established at the request of users are not intended to exist for extended periods but do remain in most cases until we are alerted that something is wrong. The exception is when mission contacts request upgrades of their free recordssee Contact Directories.
