... that which pertains to all interacting functions
of the management and production of material wealth; everything
pertaining to a local
economy that produces, develops, and manages material wealth

of the practice frames his or her job description. Also, a
practitioner needs to have marketing skills
and understand that networking with
allies, prospects and others in control of economic development
opportunities is crucial. Political
involvement is basic to working at economic development;
therefore, savvy practitioners learn what latitude they have

economic development data
... information about places

data. The Network offers a collection
of the various elements of economic development data
that are found, for example, at the websites of
location
data suppliers. To view the collection, go
to page
2 of About Site Selection. A
development
alliance which included The International Economic
Development Council set forth
25 spreadsheets
with 1,200
plus informational
elements as data standards. IEDC refers to them as site
selection standards, making them available
for free download as Site
Selection Data Standards. The collection
of economic development data elements The
Network has could
easily be referred to as site selection informational
elements
but
all items don't necessarily match with IEDC spreadsheets.
That's because the comprehensive collection available
in Site
Location Assistance.com is
a list of items gleaned from location
packages and community
profiles as well
as websites.
